Nigerian culture has much to offer in terms of music. One of the most successful and well-liked artists of the gospel genre is Ada Ehi. She is widely seen as one of the most influential Christian singers in Nigeria today.

Ada was born in a large family. Her real name is Ada Ogochukwu Ehi and her surname at birth is Ndukauba. Her parents are Victor and Mabel Ndukauba. Together with her three brothers, she used to listen to all kinds of the gospel songs that their parents would often play to the kids.
She grew up listening to Christian music. According to her: ‘My father had excellent taste in music. Then I watched a lot of theatrical music. I had very long hair growing up, so the only way to get me to sit down to weave my hair is to slot in the music; so that was my foundation’. She schooled at Federal Government Girls College, Sagamu but the music was all different. She was exposed to another style of music. She graduated from Lagos State University where she studied Chemical and Polymer engineering She has a very quick mind, she picks up things very fast and with the help of the Holy Ghost. Ada’s parents are well schooled, so there was a lot of English to learn in her house.
Ada is happily married to Moses Ehi, the two have been together for 11 years and are blessed with two beautiful kids.
Musical Career
At the age of 10, she joined Tosin Jegede’s girl group as a backup singer. It was a real breakthrough for Ada’s career. She graduated from Lagos State University where she studied Chemical and Polymer engineering. While in school, she joined the Christian gospel group called Believers Love World local Campus Fellowship. Her gospel-singing career continued in the Christ Embassy Presidential Choir. It was a great platform to develop and promote her professional skills.
Since joining the Christ Embassy Choir, she has been actively involved in the Music Ministry of Christ Embassy and has performed at Christ Embassy events in several programs around the world including Europe, America and several African countrie. Her Debut Album Undenied was released in November 2009 while her sophomore album Lifted & So Fly, a two-disc album, was released in November 2013. She released her third studio album titled Future Now, on the 16th of October, 2017 and claimed no.1 spot on iTunes Nigeria same day.
In 2017, she was listed in YNaija’s list of “100 Influential Christian Personalities in Nigeria”. She won the 2017 Groove Awards for West African Artist of the Year; being nominated alongside Frank Edwards, Sinach, Joe Praize and the Preachers.
