Background Profile
Frank Edwards was born into a family of seven and lived his early years in Enugu state Nigeria. As a young man Frank had to sell okpa with his mother for over 10 years just to survive before his breakthrough album in 2008. Frank learned how to play the piano and a few other musical instruments from his father at the young age of 10 and at this point he also started singing.
Musical Career
Mr. Edwards is a producer, plays several musical instruments and is a keyboardist and a member of the Presidential band of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome in Christ Embassy Church. His debut album The Definition was released in 2008. It was a 14-track album and was distributed by Honesty Music. Angels on the Runway his second album was released in 2010 and another, Unlimited, in 2011. Tagjam, was released in November 2011.
Frank was the winner of the Rock Artist of the Year 2010 at the Nigerian Gospel Awards. In 2012, he was recognised as one of Africa’s best gospel artists when he won the Best Gospel Artist West Africa Award at the African Gospel Awards; an amazing feat. He received six nominations at the Nigerian Gospel Awards that same year. A $10,000 prize was his for the taking at the Loveworld Awards for the Hit Song of the Year 2012.
